The Chippawa RiverHawks went over the top in 2001 as they captured the provincial title and the prestigious Schmalz Cup.  The RiverHawks rolled to an unprecedented regular season with a glorious 31-0-4-1 record, and finished the playoffs and regular season with a staggering 51 wins.

The divisional playoffs saw the RiverHawks sweep the Dunnville Terriers before getting their toughest test of the year, as they survived a white knuckle ride while edging out the Grimsby Peach Kings in 7 dramatic games for the NDJHL East Division Championship.

At that point the RiverHawks would only lose 1 more game as they swept Norwich for the NDJHL Championship, and then swept Uxbridge to advance to the Provincial Championship.  In the Schmalz Cup Finals, Chippawa defeated Belle River, 4 games to 1 to cap a remarkable and unforgettable season.

The history making club was then inducted onto the Niagara Falls Sports Wall of Fame [Team Category] in January 2012.
